A Graham Foundation anunciou a concessão de 64 novas bolsas a profissionais que exploram ideias inovadoras e interdisciplinares e que contribuem com perspectivas críticas sobre a arquitetura e o design.
Os beneficiários foram selecionados a partir de uma convocatória aberta que resultou em quase 500 inscrições. Os projetos selecionados são liderados por 92 indivíduos com diferentes formações, de arquitetos a artistas e cineastas. Os projetos selecionados incluem publicações, pesquisas, exposições, filmes, podcasts, iniciativas digitais, programas públicos e outros formatos que promovem ideias, discussões e novas compreensões sobre arquitetura.
Segundo a organização, muitos dos projetos selecionados estão sendo apresentadas na Bienal de Veneza 2023, incluindo "Dreadlock", de Felecia Davis, "The Uhuru Catalogues", de Thandi Loewenson, "TEXTURAL THRESHOLD HAIR SALON: Black City Astrolabe", de Yolande Daniels, e "Index of Edges", de Huda Tayob. Nas apresentações nacionais, há participação de bolsistas nos pavilhões da Itália, Coreia e Estados Unidos.
Desde sua criação em 1956, a Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts concedeu mais de 43 milhões de dólares em apoio direto a mais de cinco mil projetos de indivíduos e organizações ao redor do mundo.
